Music Ministry

"The Church ... needs musicians. How many sacred works have been composed
through the centuries by people deeply imbued with the sense of the mystery!
The faith of countless believers has been nourished by melodies flowing from
the hearts of other believers, either introduced into the liturgy or used as an
aid to dignified worship. In song, faith is experienced as vibrant joy, love,
and confident expectation of the saving intervention of God."
(Pope John Paul II, Letter to Artists, April 2, 1999)

We are looking to add to our current roster of available musicians
We are in need of an adult bass player and drummer to join the LIFE TEEN worship band. Commitment involves attendance at rehearsals and Sunday 6 PM LIFE TEEN Mass twice a month. The music style is contemporary praise and worship. If interested please contact David J. Rofrano @ 281-333-5485 or email music@stpaulcatholic.org

Involvement in any ministry is a calling from the Lord.
Our music ministry is not just a group of people who sing together, but Christians joining their voices with musical instruments to worship and praise the Lord.

One way we express our love of God is through music. Our ministry is not to show off our musical virtuosity, but to show God’s love for the world THROUGH music. Our ministry members are truly dedicated to making the liturgical music a prayerful and uplifting worship experience. We serve our parish community by encouraging and assisting the assembly to sing.

An extra blessing we receive is the sense of community and fellowship we feel with one another. In a very real sense, we are called to be loving witnesses of God’s love and grace, a listening ear, someone with whom to laugh and cry and people who pray and sing with one another.

Laugher, joy, and a sense of community are the many blessings that come from serving the Lord in the music ministry. Prayerfully consider being involved in this ministry. f you are interested in joining our Music Ministry as a vocalist or instrumentalist, the most important requirement is a LOVE of MUSIC and WILLINGNESS to SERVE.

"Music is integral to the liturgy. It unifies those gathered to worship,
supports the song of the congregation, highlights significant parts of the
liturgical action, and helps to set the tone for each celebration."

(U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Built of Living Stones, November 16, 2000)
