Children's Program

Our Goal
Our goal for learning at St. Paul’s is to help everyone recognize God in their life. In our planning we ask ourselves the question: Is this lesson (program, gathering) going to help everyone recognize God in their life? Since the parents are the primary teachers and we are the secondary teachers of faith to the children, we encourage parents to adopt this goal as their own. Take situations in your home and ask the question: Is this going to help my child(ren) recognize God in their lives? You could even go further and ask the questions: What else can I do to help my children recognize God in their life? What else could I do to help me recognize God in my life?

"The experience of God in the family, whether named or not, enters each person at a fundamentally deep and lasting level. This cannot be denied. God is present as long as genuine love is present and acted upon ... the family is the first and foremost setting where each of us is formed and encounters the love of the living God!"

Ongoing Opportunities for Parents and Children to Recognize God in Their Lives

Sunday Preschool
Our program teaches children to celebrate their life, the joy of God’s love and the gift of the Church. Three and four year olds meet during the 9a.m. or 10:45 a.m. mass.

Elementary Sunday School
Continuing Christian Education (CCE) is offered on Sundays for Kindergarten - 5th grade. Classes are offered from 9-10:15 a.m. or 10:45 a.m.-noon. Sessions begin in our social hall with music time and then the children go to classrooms for interactive learning.

Family Program
This is designed for families who are looking for an alternative to Sunday morning CCE or would like to enhance their families faith experience. Families who use this program for their CCE will choose books to use at home then stay connected with the community through attendance at sessions that take place once a month on Sunday evenings from 4-5:45 p.m.

Bible Adventures
These are fun-filled adventures that walk participants through a variety of Bible focuses. This year our focus is characters in the Bible. Every Bible Adventure is geared towards kids in kindergarten through 5th grade and their parents. Come for food, fun, and fellowship, Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm.

Children's Liturgy of the Word
When CCE is not in session during the year Kindergartners through 5th graders are invited to attend Children’s Liturgy of the Word during the 10:45 a.m. mass.

Children’s Church
Children in Preschool 3 and 4 are invited to participate in Children’s Church during the 10:45 a.m. mass when CCE is not in session.

First Sacrament Preparation
This is an opportunity for St. Paul’s to partner with parents in preparing children to receive First Reconciliation and First Communion. Our program is a family-style program where both children and parents participate in the learning process. It is designed to emphasize that children are influenced more by what they see their parents actually do than by what they say. Through this program, parents are offered the opportunity to not only intentionally share their faith with their children but also to walk the faith journey with them with remarkable results.
