As you place your gift in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul envelope, know that you are a sign of God’s love to those who are suffering and you give them reason to believe and to trust.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is recruiting new members to assist with the food pantry. This is a very flexible way to volunteer with SVdP. Your help will be appreciated, even if you can only spare 1 hour each week.
Assistance is needed in the food pantry during the SVdP office hours; Tuesday (6-8 p.m.) and Wednesday through Friday (9:30-11:30 a.m.) and then on Monday or Tuesday (flexible).
Members of the Society embrace these goals:
To pursue holiness with the support of friends in the Conference through prayer together and acts;
To proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ in word and action; and
To serve the poor directly, person-to-person, having a deep concern for people who are poor.
Members join the Society, not because they are perfected in their faith, but because they seek to develop faith by living it both individually and communally with other members. Progress, not perfection, is what is desired in a member. The Society is for people who acknowledge the need to improve their living of the Gospel life and want to do so through the Society.
